About Us
We are an Australian Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering managed IT services, Microsoft 365 administration, network infrastructure, and AI-powered workflow automation to Australian businesses. We are growing our analytics and application support capability to serve clients across distribution, finance, and professional services. We are a small, agile team. You will work directly with the lead engineer and contribute to real client deliverables from day one. This role is designed to grow. The initial engagement is project-focused across our Australian client base; strong performers will take on an expanding regional scope as the role develops.
Role Overview
We are looking for an Application Support Specialist who is genuinely comfortable across multiple business applications -not just one platform. This is a broad, hands-on role with two distinct responsibilities: Power BI report development and ERP application support.
The three core skills for this role are:
- Power BI and ERP data modelling
- SAP Business ByDesign
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
SAP Business ByDesign is a hard requirement. Beyond reporting, you will serve as the primary day-to-day application support contact for SAP Business ByDesign for our Australian client – handling user issues, configuration queries, troubleshooting, and escalations to SAP support. This requires genuine hands-on ByDesign experience, not just familiarity with OData feeds. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is required for our ASEAN Power BI rollout – 6 countries, all running Business Central, requiring the same report suite to be built and adapted per country. Beyond ERP, we are actively interested in candidates who also bring depth in Azure services, Power Platform, or API integrations. This role is ideal for someone who can look at a business system, understand how the data flows, and build reporting or automation on top of it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day application support contact for SAP Business ByDesign – handling user issues, configuration queries, troubleshooting, and escalations to SAP support on behalf of our Australian client
- Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards connected to ERP platforms (SAP ByDesign and Business Central) via OData
- Design and optimise data models (star schema, fact/dimension tables, DAX measures, Power Query transformations)
- Adapt and deploy the AU Power BI report suite across 6 ASEAN countries running Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Support ERP data extraction and reporting pipelines (OData, REST APIs, scheduled exports)
- Assist with Power Automate flows for workflow automation and data pipeline tasks
- Document application configurations, data models, support procedures, and known issues
- Collaborate with the team to scope and deliver application projects for new and existing client
- Contribute to Azure-based solutions where required (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, storage, integrations)
Required Skills & Experience:
SAP Business ByDesign – Application Support – Essential
- Hands-on experience supporting SAP Business ByDesign end users – troubleshooting issues, answering configuration questions, resolving data problems.
- Familiarity with ByDesign functional areas relevant to distribution/wholesale: sales orders, billing, inventory, purchasing
- Ability to diagnose ByDesign issues independently and escalate to SAP support with clear documentation when needed
- Experience with OData feed configuration and report extraction from ByDesign analytics
Power BI – Essential
- Power BI Desktop – report design, visualisations, drill-throughs, bookmarks, slicers
- Data modelling – star schema, fact/dimension tables, relationships, calculated columns
- DAX – measures, time intelligence (TOTALYTD, SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR), conditional logic
- Power Query (M) – data shaping, merging, transformation, query folding awareness
- Power BI Service – workspace publishing, scheduled refresh, row-level security basic
- OData and REST API connections, Basic auth and OAuth
ERP Data Modelling – Essential
- Hands-on experience extracting and modelling data from at least one ERP platform
- Ability to map ERP fields to reporting requirements (sales, billing, inventory, GP%)
- Understanding of transactional data structures (orders, invoices, stock movements)
- Required platforms: SAP Business ByDesign and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – at least one is mandatory; both strongly preferred
- Why both matter: initial project is AU SAP Business ByDesign reporting; subsequent work is a 6-country ASEAN Business Central rollout – this role covers both phases
- Additional ERP experience is a bonus (SAP 4Hana, NetSuite, MYOB Advanced, Pronto, Epicor)
Desirable Skills
Candidates with one or more of the following are strongly encouraged to apply.
Azure & Cloud
- Azure Logic Apps or Azure Functions – workflow automation and integrations
- Azure Storage (Blob, Data Lake) – for data pipeline staging
- Azure API Management or Integration Services
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) – app registrations, OAuth, managed identities
- Azure DevOps – for pipeline or script management
Power Platform
- Power Automate – cloud flows, scheduled triggers, HTTP connectors, approval workflows
- Power Apps – canvas or model-driven apps for internal tooling
- Dataverse – as a structured data layer for Power Platform
Data & Integration
- SQL – querying, joins, stored procedures, views (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Python or JavaScript – for scripting, API calls, or data prep tasks
- REST API experience – consuming and building integrations against third-party APIs
- SharePoint – as a data source or document library for pipeline inputs
What You Will Work On
You will be working on scoped, structured projects – primarily Power BI reports connected to ERP platforms via OData, as well as application support and integration tasks across our client base.
Immediate work (Phase 1 – Australia): Build and deliver Power BI reports connected to SAP Business ByDesign for our Australian distribution client. This is a defined 5-report scope already in progress.
Subsequent work (Phase 2 – ASEAN rollout): The same report suite is being rolled out across 6 ASEAN countries, all running Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This phase involves adapting the AU reports to Business Central data structures, building per-country instances, and contributing to a consolidated regional report for the ASEAN Regional Director.
Work is delivered to agreed specifications with clear briefs. You will not be left to figure out requirements – we work collaboratively to define scope before work begins.
Who We Are Looking For
- Strong Power BI fundamentals – a short-paid test task will be completed before confirming the hire
- ERP data modelling experience in SAP Business ByDesign and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – at least one is required; both strongly preferred
- Broad application curiosity – this role suits someone who has worked across multiple platforms, not just one
- Self-directed – you receive clear briefs and execute independently; you flag blockers early
- Communicates clearly – you ask good questions upfront and document what you build
- Junior applicants with genuine depth in Power BI and hands-on ERP experience are welcome – the scope is real and immediate
