Key Benefits of Fully Integrating VAs Into Your Company
Published by: Marisa Wiman | 21 February, 2018
Hiring the best virtual assistant is a big feat. After the onboarding process, making them stay is another challenge.
When you’ve found the right VA for you, the next step is identifying ways to retain them. Employee turnover is expensive financially and time-wise plus it really hurts when a superstar employee leaves a very important role.
One of the most effective ways to keep VAs is to fully integrate them into your business.
- When VAs feel that they are part of a group or a team, rather than just employees who clock in and out, they feel more connected to their work and to the business. After all, we are social animals and we feel stronger and more confident when we identify with a group.
- Create an environment where they feel safe to share their ideas and provide their feedback. Give them enough space to do their role, be creative at it and be responsible for it. Let them take ownership of what they do.
- Integrate them to your work culture and make them feel that you appreciate and value their contribution to the business. Let them understand and imbibe the company’s ‘purpose’. Giving them a higher purpose actually elevates their job satisfaction and happiness at work.
When we started integrating our purpose to alleviate poverty through transformational employment in Greymouse, our team’s response was very positive and they embraced this purpose. In a way, this purpose binds us together and makes everyone feel that they are a part of our growing family.
