From assisting with day-to-day HR functions, doing bank reconciliations, and overseeing properties, Farhana is often amazed by her incredible versatility at work. She has been assigned to do bank reconciliations, property management, AP and AR management, Bill Entries and Invoicing for more than a year since she was employed in Greymouse. For Farhana, it’s important that she is on the ball, accurate and efficient with her work. There are a lot of administrative tasks involved, so she must make sure she is hitting all her deadlines and being proactive. Her role also requires her to support her HR manager.

For Farhana, there is no such thing as a typical day in the office⁠— every day is different!

As per Farhana, though I’d say I always try and stay on top of my emails to make sure I’m aware of what’s going on each day, and I always check in with my HR manager to see where I can provide support. My role involves a lot of administrative support, from assisting with day-to-day HR functions, doing bank reconciliations, and overseeing properties, Farhana is often amazed by her incredible versatility at work. She has been assigned to do bank reconciliations, property management, AP and AR management, bill entries and invoicing for more than a year since she was employed in Greymouse.

According to Farhana, her field of work would require great decision-making, the ability to handle pressure well and being calm and collected under all circumstances. She also believes these are skills vital for the job. “You should know the pros and cons of your decision as it affects the issue— it’s what you will be putting others through, so you have to be careful and considerate,” especially when your job is critical daily.

A day in the life of Farhana involves tending to HR files and important documents required for employment, on-boarding, payroll and finance, and more.

As per Farhana, her job is rewarding because she is genuinely passionate about what she does, so going to work every day isn’t a chore. It always satisfying when she can contribute to making a difference in the company. “Knowing that I can come every day and help people, even if it’s with something outside of the workplace, is amazing. It’s so worthwhile!”

“The goal is to succeed in life and be independent,” Farhana answered when asked how she creates motivation for herself and her team. “My experience here was very practical and valuable in my career. For me, I learn better when I apply my knowledge and experience, so if I’m going to be asked what’s more valuable between education and experience, it would be both.” She continued that although she appreciates her experience in her field of work, education and her background made it easier to get through. For Farhana, she likes to think that her job is the best. My favourite thing about this job is that I get to learn new things and overcome challenges in this field. I love how I can practice versatility where I have learned to do various tasks.” Farhana always looks forward to learning more things and doing it like everyone else— hoping that next time, she will not face any difficulty.

Farhana believes that the most challenging or difficult aspect of her role is it’s very fast paced so there is no time to switch off or slow down. Her proudest accomplishment is being able to work in GM and growing through training. “The work environment here in Greymouse is fun. And I really would hope that Greymouse continues to become a stable and growing company. I look forward to being part of its growth.”
