Nearshore recently announced an exciting and transformative initiative aimed at supporting the educational aspirations of our valued team members. 

Our CEO, Faiyaz Khan, shared the plan to sponsor employees pursuing tertiary education during his address at the University of the South Pacific’s Careers Day. He expressed Nearshore’s dedication to assisting students facing financial challenges in their academic journey. The sponsorship covers up to 2 units per semester paid, with the continued support of a full-time paid job. 

Through this groundbreaking initiative, Sharon recently joined Nearshore. The announcement, made during the USP Open Day, sparked Sharon’s interest and prompted her to seize the opportunity provided by Nearshore’s commitment to supporting employees pursuing tertiary education.

Sharon is a resilient and ambitious third-year student at the University of the South Pacific (USP), pursuing a B.Com Degree in Accounting and Economics. As a dedicated student at USP, Sharon is shaping a path toward a future as an accountant, driven by the belief that education is the key to unlocking better opportunities.

She first encountered Greymouse through their social media presence. Intrigued by the promise of both educational and job opportunities, she explored the chance during her interview process, realizing the potential for a significant positive impact on her life. The flexibility of working with Nearshore while concurrently pursuing her studies resonated with Sharon.

Sharon’s first foray into the professional world unfolded in the engineering industry, where she contributed as a financial team member. This experience highlighted the importance of teamwork for her and allowed her to enhance her communication skills.
