Debunking Outsourcing Myths: Outsourcing Is A Scam
Published by: Marisa Wiman | 27 March, 2018
As outsourcing began to rise in the market, many misconceptions have been associated with their strategic service.
One of the misconceptions about outsourcing are the hidden costs, hidden agenda’s in your business, letting you lose control in your business and even tagged as a dishonest scheme or scam.
However, these are just misconceptions and false belief that was attached to the process of outsourcing and virtual assistance.
Most people don’t know that outsourcing can do wonders for your business. They’re armed to help you with your mundane tasks and helps you focus on your core business.
Aside from these advantages, how do you make sure that an outsourcing provider is legitimate before you sign up a contract with them?
Have no fear! Here are some of the few steps to re-assure that your provider is legitimate:
- Do your homework!
When diving to get your business outsourced, you would also need to do your homework! Go and get some research on your target outsourcing company. Check their websites, social media page, and even their LinkedIn.
By checking their sites, you will be able to learn the services they offer, their mission and vision and their list of achievements. Also, take the time to evaluate their achievements and the services they provide – “Are they doing data entry tasks? Can they answer calls for my business? Can they help me sell my business on social media?”
By taking the first step to do your research, you will be able to take a look if a company is legit and can meet your needs and standards as a business owner.
- Make your first phone call
Doing your research is not enough! Go make your first phone call with your potential outsourcing partner. Making the first phone call does not mean you’re getting a sales call already. Treat this call as an opportunity for you to fully evaluate and see how they work as a company.
Address all your enquiry. Ask them where they are based. Do they have clients similar to you as a business owner? How long have they’ve been in business? Can they help you with your business goals through the services they offer?
Have some of these questions listed, if most of them are ticked off then, they’re proven to be an experienced and credible provider.
- Align your business
An outsourcing is definitely concrete and able to meet their customer’s needs if they have fully aligned their value with businesses. Yes, your provider has all sorts of technical expertise but do they know how to build a smooth relationship with your projects?
In Greymouse, we truly value meeting our client needs by working closely with our clients through communicating with each other. When we communicate we became transparent with our client, we help each other meet our goals and needs.
We would always take to heart that successful outsourcing partnership depends not solely on technical expertise, but on trust, communication and valued relationship with our customer.
Above all, the only way to make sure that your provider is materially able to provide efficient business is by evaluating them, see how they work and how they value your business.
