“Every problem is a gift, a chance for us to grow”… By Hannah.
Optimistic, grateful, and inspiring: those are just a few words to describe Hannah. She started at Greymouse without any previous work experience in being a Virtual Receptionist and now five years after, she worked her way through becoming a full-time Virtual Assistant for a dedicated client. She is an ace, being assigned with the following tasks:
■ Email management;
■ Update DHI’s monthly performance report and master file report;
■ Arrange flights and hotel accommodation for clients and staffs through Savi, an
online booking tool;
■ Carry out Social Media Tasks;
■ Admin assistance;
■ Edit doctor performance destination sheet and more
When asked what the best thing about her job is, she told us that as a Virtual Assistant having been able to learn constantly about herself and her capabilities were just a few to mention. Hannah might seem to have a lot upon her sleeve but she didn’t hesitate in telling us her secret in getting to where she is now. Along with being kind and humble “taking constant feedback and surrounding yourself with the right people” were a few of her pointers. “Feedback certainly helps in improving the quality of deliverables. “
The learning experience is very crucial. The possibilities in working as a virtual assistant are endless and the skills will not only be limited to just one aspect in the business world. Being a virtual assistant is rewarding especially when you get to help company owners and become their right hand and business partner to help them fulfil their goals.
“Greymouse helped me grow, and they still do. They also helped in shaping me and my skills professionally.” To work in the same field she is in, she believes that having great admin skills and good communication skills are important. Being social media savvy is but a plus! According to her, it’s a journey “so enjoy every step you take and keep learning. The road will never be smooth but if you have people who support you, you are most likely to be successful.”
Last year because of COVID, the team was moved to work from home. She was able to understand that during this time, it is important to stay active through her regular fitness routine as well as dancing, singing, and spending time with her family to make working from home possible.
She also believes that human connection is very important for us and our well-being so she makes it a point to bring happiness and encouragement not only to her workmates but also to her clients every day.
Being a Virtual Assistant helps her balance her work and personal life, which, to her, is priceless!
Before ending the interview with her, Hannah leaves us with another reminder. “As a VA, you’re a vital piece in keeping businesses running smoothly.” She is grateful that clients consider them as a significant part of the team— it’s not a role she takes lightly.
She is also grateful for Greymouse. The company opened her up to a lot of possibilities, and she hopes that it will continue to go forward and live up to its purpose.
Believe in yourself and you will be rocking it!
